Representing the Province of Biliran during the Regional Awarding of Health Achievers last September 15, 2020, Vice-Governor thanks local officials, government functionaries, and health workers for their contributions during the pandemic.

Biliran is one of the top performers during the primary series COVID-19 vaccination campaign, having vaccinated 91% of their eligible population by May of 2022.

Lawaan was one of the hard hit municipalities in Eastern Samar, having to halt vaccination operations last year due to the rising covid-19 cases.

Speaking on behalf of the Municipality of Lawaan at the Regional Awarding of Health Achievers, Mayor Athene Lagrimas Mendros thanked the RHU for their boundless efforts to achieve their covid-19 vaccination targets.

“I always had a meeting with the brgy captains and the BHWs. In [Lavezares], we ranked the barangays that has the most number of unvaccinated. We talked to the barangay captains and [we saw that] they are willing to help as we [all wanted] to bring back [our communities] to normal.”

Mayor Edito B. Saludaga expressed gratitude towards the unconditional service of the health workers and punong barangays of Lavezares, Northern Samar, leading to their participation at the Regional Awarding for Health Achievers last September 15, 2022 for meeting their COVID-19 vaccination targets.

Despite the challenges as an island municipality and a 6th class municipality, Limasawa stood strong against COVID-19, with Mayor Melchor Petracorta’s leadership, for meeting their primary series vaccination targets. Mayor Petracorta received their due recognition at the Regional Awarding of Health Achievers on September 15, 2022 at Palo, Leyte.

“But even without the award, I know we still have to work because this is the expectation of our people. I would like to thank our health workers for achieving this award. Without them, kung ako lang mag-isa, hindi ko kaya to. So, this is our award, not mine.”

Apart from representing Jiabong, Samar at the Regional Awarding of Health Achievers on September 15, 2020 for meeting their COVID-19 vaccination targets, Mayor Julie Sereno was also there as an awardee in their success in the area of sanitation as a recognized ZOD municipality last November of 2021.
