EV JOINS THE COUNTRY IN THE BAKUNAHANG BAYAN: PINASLAKAS SPECIAL VACCINATION DAYS
Press Release| September 27, 2022.

Following the nationwide launch of the brandnew vaccination campaign dubbed “Sa booster, PinasLakas” on July 26, 2022, Eastern Visayas will once again showcase its spirit of bayanihan as it shares the country’s vision for the Bakunahang Bayan: PinasLakas Special Vaccination Days on September 26-30.

The region continues its strengthened vaccination initiatives to support the PinasLakas campaign as it follows the whole-of-government and whole-of-society framework involving various public and private agencies, integrating different vaccination best practices among them to give the most effective and efficient strategy for the public. With the targets for the President’s First 100 Days (90% vaccination coverage among the A2 Population or Senior Citizens and 50% first booster vaccination coverage among the eligible population) are duly established, the Bakunahang Bayan aims at ensuring that these targets are achieved.

In order to ramp up vaccine roll-outs all over the region, all vaccination efforts of the DOH EVCHD, its partner agencies from both the public and private sectors, and Local Government Units will focus on the settings-based approach to bring vaccines closer to the people. This will include malls, markets, terminals, plazas, places of worship, schools, and workplaces.

Moreover, the DOH EVCHD, thru the Regional Vaccination Operations Center, has set the granular analysis of data and vaccination coverages per catchment area or barangay in order to closely monitor the current vaccine and ancillaries inventory. Mapping of areas with low vaccination coverages, focusing on LGUs with high density population for high yield accomplishment are ensured.

Since the campaign was launched on July 26, 2022 the region has already administered a total of 130,819 booster doses for the eligible population and the vaccination coverage for Senior Citizens have increased and is currently at 70%. Through the Bakunahang Bayan, priority shall be given to the unvaccinated Senior Citizens or those with zero (0) dose and the first booster administration among the general population. All individuals five (5) years old and above are eligible for the administration of primary dose series during the campaign; to include identification and vaccination of individuals for completion of the primary dose series or with missed doses. Second booster doses may also be given to the most at risk population which includes medical frontliners, immunocompromised individuals, individuals 50 years old and above, and adults 18 to 49 years of age with comorbidities as provided for in existing COVID-19 vaccination policies and issuances.

With the whole-of-society and whole-of-government approach at its forefront, this is an opportunity for the region to recuperate, manifesting a safe environment for all the children, elderly, health care workers, and all those involved in this fight.

Tara na sa Bakunahang Bayan!
Bawa’t Pilipino, mas PinasLakas ang Proteksyon!
